Lady Bucs Come up Short Against No. 14 West Florida

MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 14 West Florida, on Saturday afternoon, at Canale Arena.  

FINAL SCORE  
UWF 3 (21-5, 11-1 GSC), CBU 0 (3-17, 2-9 GSC), (25-16, 25-23, 25-16)

WHAT HAPPENED:
UWF hit .288, while committing just 13 errors to help it earn the win. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • UWF had a match-high 16 kills and just three errors in the first set win. 
  • CBU trailed 14-6, but stormed back to cut the deficit to 17-16. 
  • After UWF took a 22-20 lead, it scored five of the next eight points to win the tightly contested third set. 
  • The Lady Bucs had 14 kills and just five errors in the set. 
  • Leading 3-2, the visitors scored 11 of the next 12 points to take control of the set. 
KEY STATS: 
  • Calah Jackson led CBU with a match-high nine kills and five blocks. The freshman has 13 blocks in her last three outings. 
  • Kimmy Hammond paced the CBU defense with 13 digs. 

UP NEXT

The Lady Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 25, when they travel to Union. First serve is set for 6 PM.
