MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University women's soccer team scored a pair of first half goals, and held on for a 2-1 victory over Valdosta State, in Gulf South Conference action, on Sunday afternoon, at Signaigo Field. Before the match, CBU honored its four seniors.

Cheyenne Smith opened the scoring, for CBU, when she pounced on a turnover and launched a shot from outside the box that went past the Valdosta State goalkeeper.
42' | The Lady Bucs doubled their lead after
Julia Valentin fired a shot, from long range, into the top right corner.
HALF | VSU outshot the Lady Bucs 8-7 in the opening half.
55' | The Blazers got back into the match when Kaley Mincy launched a free kick, from the right side, into the top right corner.
FINAL | VSU had six shots in the 25 minutes following the goal, but the CBU held firm not allowing a Blazer effort in the final 10 minutes.

Chloe Hillyer finished with five saves.
Smith is now tied for the league lead with 14 goals.
Valentin scored her sixth of the season, which ranks second on the team.
With three contests remaining, CBU has matched its win total from a year ago and is just one victory away from matching its 2021 league win total.
