FLORENCE, Ala. - North Alabama used a 24-12 fourth quarter to defeat the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team 78-68, on Monday afternoon, at Flowers Hall. The contest was an exhibition for CBU, but marked the regular season opener for UNA. After becoming a founding member of the Gulf South Conference, UNA is now a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UNA shot 50 percent (10-20) to take a 23-17 jead after the opening quarter.
- CBU limited the Lions to just 12 points in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to 35-33 at the half.
- UNA led by as many as seven points in the third quarter, but the Lady Bucs used a 9-0 run to take a 56-54 lead into the final frame.
- The Lions opened the fourth on a 12-3 run to take a seven point lead with 5:28 left.
- CBU responded with a 6-1 spurt that cut the lead to 67-65 with 3:43 left.
- UNA put the game away, scoring nine of the final 12 points.
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES
- CBU held the hosts to just 37 percent from the floor, including 24 percent from the three point line.
- Jeremia Montgomery led CBU, tying a game-high 19 points with seven rebounds. Montgomery also hit all four of her three point attempts.
- Selena Pruitt chipped in 15 points to round out the double-figure scorers for CBU.
