MEMPHIS - Christian Brothers University athletics has announced the addition of STUNT as its next varsity sport. CBU is scheduled to begin competition during the 2024-25 athletics season. 

"We are very excited to announce STUNT as our next sport offering at CBU," Director of Athletics Chris Parker said. "STUNT will create a new level of excitement for the CBU and Memphis communities. This will also create new opportunities to recruit more quality student-athletes to CBU and further enhance our women's athletic programs."

Officially recognized as an emerging sport by the NCAA, STUNT will be the 18th intercollegiate sport to be sponsored by CBU, which is set to be the just the third college in Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida to compete in STUNT.

Current cheer Head Coach, Donald Holmes, will also assume the additional duties as the leader of STUNT." 

"I am excited, and honored, to help bring STUNT the Sport to CBU," Holmes said. "I believe STUNT will bring renewed inspiration and considerable opportunities to student-athletes in our region. We are eager to start recruiting for a new program that CBU, the Memphis community and the surrounding areas will be proud of!" 

STUNT, one of the fastest growing sports in the country, incorporates skills derived from cheerleading.  STUNT is an exciting head-to-head game between two teams who execute skills-based routines in various categories – partner stunts, jumps & tumbling, pyramids & tosses, and team routines.
