CLINTON, Miss. – The Christian Brothers University volleyball team dropped its final road contest of the season, in a 3-0 setback to Mississippi College, on Friday night, at A.E. Wood Coliseum.

Mississippi College 3 (11-14, 9-6 GSC), CBU 0 (2-24, 1-13 GSC), (25-19, 26-24, 25-18)
WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Bucs jump out to early leads in the second and third sets, but were unable to hold on.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After going down 14-8, the Lady Bucs used a 3-0 run started off by a kill from Jordan Allen to cut the Choctaws lead in half.
- Back-to-back aces from Tia Rizvi cut the MC lead to 22-19, but the Choctaws used a 3-0 run to close the set and take a 1-0 lead.
- Led by three straight aces from Sarah Allyn Thornell, the Lady Bucs started the second set with a 7-0 run.
- After a 7-1 run late in the set gave the Choctaws a 23-20 lead, Alma Solis and Jordan Allen combined to score three straight points, tying the score at 23.
- Back-to-back kills from MC secured the second set by a narrow 26-24 margin.
- For the second stragiht set, the Lady Bucs stormed out to a 6-1 advantage that was punctuated by a kill from Allen.
- The lead was short lived as the Choctaws used a 12-2 run in the middle of the set to take the 20-13 lead. Mississippi College did not look back taking the match with a 25-18 set win.
KEY STATS | NOTABLES:
- With eight aces against MC, CBU has combined for 27 in its last three contests. That total is its highest in a three-match span this season.
- The three aces for Rizvi ties her season-high. The junior has recorded three aces in back-to-back contests.
- For the first time this season, the Lady Bucs hit a negative percentage (-.066), combining for 18 kills and 23 errors on 76 attempts.
