WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Christian Brothers University softball team used late rallies to earn a doubleheader sweep of Williams Baptist, on Tuesday afternoon, at Lady Eagle Softball Field. The Lady Bucs took the opener 3-2 and finished the sweep with an 8-6 (9) win in game two.
CBU was tied, or trailing, in the sixth inning of both contests.
GAME ONE: CBU 3 (5-15) WBU 2 (5-13)
GAME CHANGER:
With the game tied at one, in the sixth, CBU scored a pair of runs and held on for the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

- The Lady Bucs committed three errors in the contest.
- Kate Candies led the Lady Bucs, going 2-3 with a double.
- Memory Willingham had a home run.

A home run for Willingham gave CBU a 1-0 lead in the fourth.
After the hosts answered back in the fifth, an RBI single by Bakel and sac fly by McGill plated what proved to be the game-winning run.
The Eagles took advantage of a CBU miscue to score a run in the sixth.
Hanging on to a 3-2 lead, and the tying run on second, Wurm forced a pair of infield pop ups to end the game.

Memory Willingham smacked a two-run home run to tie the game at four.

After a double by pinch-hitter
Caroline Gross sent the tying run to the plate, CBU was down to its final out when Willingham smacked a game-tying home run to right field.
Both teams scored in the eighth inning to send the game to the ninth.
Heads up baserunning by
Janey Cheramie helped give CBU a 6-5 lead, when she scored on a wild pitch.
Candies drove in what proved to be the game-winning runs when laced a two-RBI double to center field.
After the Eagles scored on a wild pitch,
Mackenzie Bakel grabbed what would have been the game-winning home run and doubled up the runner on second to end the game.
