MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team opened its home schedule with a 3-1 win over West Alabama, on Friday night, at Canale Arena.

WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Bucs won two closely contested sets by just two points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Tigers led the opened set 13-9, but CBU stormed back to take a 20-17 lead. After the score was tied at 23, the Lady Bucs fought off two set points before coming back to win the set. CBU capitalized on 10 UWA attack errors in a narrow 27-25 win.
- The second set belonged to the Tigers, as they hit a team best .231 to tie the match at one.
- CBU hit a match-high .333 in the third set and reeled off a 9-3 run to take help take a 2-1 lead.
- Leading 8-3, the Lady Bucs appeared to have control of the fourth set, but the Tigers used three straight aces to help take a 16-13 lead.
- CBU capitalized on three attack errors to take a 23-18 lead.
- The Lady Bucs had a pair of match points before Calah Jackson put away a kill to help give CBU the win.
KEY STATS | NOTABLES:
- CBU had a season-high 10 service aces.
- Sarah Allyn Thornell posted a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs. She also added a team high with four service aces.
- Sofia Rathheim-Hilton led CBU with 13 digs. The freshman has at least 10 digs in each of her last six contests.
