Delta State Uses Late Goal to Defeat Lady Bucs

MEMPHIS - Delta State scored in the 81st minute to help it earn a 1-0 win over the Christian Brothers University women's soccer team, on Sunday afternoon, at Signaigo Field.

CBU 0 (3-3-2, 1-2, GSC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
42' | CBU had its best chance just before halftime when Mya Gargone sent a well-timed pass across the box, but it was just past the outstretched leg of Erika Pay
HALF | The Lady Bucs had a 7-2 advantage in shots at the break. 
50' | CBU had a scoring chance early in the second half, but Hannah Ward had her shot, from 12 yards out go just to the right of the post. 
72' | Lara Brewis nearly gave CBU the lead when her free kick from 30 yards out banged off the crossbar. 
81' | The Lady Statesmen scored what proved to be the game-winner on a headed free kick by Ava Webster. 
90' | Following the goal, the Lady Bucs were held to just one more shot for the remainder of the contest.
