MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Montevallo used a six run sixth inning to defeat the Christian Brothers University softball team 8-4, on Sunday afternoon, at Orr Park.
FINAL: UM 8 (7-7, 3-0 GSC) | CBU 4 (7-7, 2-4 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
Montevallo scored six runs in the sixth inning, taking advantage of four walks and a hit by pitch.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Lady Bucs were outhit 6-5.
- The Falcons took advantage of seven walks.
- Josie Bond finished 1-4 with a three-run home run.
- Kylie Burks drove in the other CBU run.
KEY PLAYS:
CBU opened the scoring in the first on the RBI single by Burks.
Montevallo tied the game with a solo home run in the second.
With CBU trailing 2-1, in the fifth, Bond smacked a three-run home run to center field.
The Falcons took control of the game in the sixth when they plated six runs.
CBU was retired in order in the seventh.
NOTABLES:
Bond now has two career home runs. Both have come this season. She also leads the team with 12 RBIs.
