HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lindsey Hardin hit a three-pointer to give Shorter a 9-7 lead at the midway point of the first quarter.
- With just over 90 seconds remaining in the quarter, CBU led 15-14 but the Hawks hit a jumper with 52 seconds left to take a narrow 16-15 lead after one quarter.
- The Hawks used a 8-13 shooting performance, in the second quarter, to take a 37-28 lead at the half.
- CBU opened the second half with a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to 39-37 with 5:40 left in the third quarter.
- Shorter used a 13-2 run of its own to take a 52-39 lead into the final quarter.
- The visitors led by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter.
- CBU managed to trim the deficit to 68-61, with just over one minute left, but saw its comeback bid fall just short.
