MEMPHIS –  Shorter shot 49 percent to help it earn a 75-61 victory over the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team, on Thursday evening, at Canale Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED  

• Lindsey Hardin hit a three-pointer to give Shorter a 9-7 lead at the midway point of the first quarter. 
• With just over 90 seconds remaining in the quarter, CBU led 15-14 but the Hawks hit a jumper with 52 seconds left to take a narrow 16-15 lead after one quarter. 
• The Hawks used a 8-13 shooting performance, in the second quarter, to take a 37-28 lead at the half. 
• CBU opened the second half with a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to 39-37 with 5:40 left in the third quarter. 
• Shorter used a 13-2 run of its own to take a 52-39 lead into the final quarter. 
• The visitors led by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter. 
• CBU managed to trim the deficit to 68-61, with just over one minute left, but saw its comeback bid fall just short. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES  

• Shorter finished the game 49 percent from the floor, while CBU was held to just 35.
• The Hawks were also aided by a 20-23 performance from the free throw stripe. 
• CBU hit 11 of its 12 free throw attempts. 
• Destiny Kiner finished with a team-high 17 points. 
• Chloe Crawford added 16 points. 
• Ever Walker scored 10 points. This marks the third time this season that she has finished in double-figures.
