Box Score NASHVILLE, TN. – The Christian Brothers University volleyball team showed plenty of energy and determination on Tuesday evening but fell in straight sets (26–24, 25–18, 25–16) to Trevecca Nazarene inside Trojan Fieldhouse.
CBU (7–13, 2–7 GSC) opened the night strong, going point-for-point in a thrilling first set that featured 15 ties. Addison Waggoner led the charge with eight kills and a block, while setter Carleiny Morillo dished out 21 assists and added 10 digs for a solid double-double performance.
Ella Schumacher and Sarah Helms each added timely kills to keep the Lady Buccaneers within reach, but the Trojans (15–3, 9–0 GSC) managed to close the opening frame with consecutive kills from Mackenzie Martin, who finished with 17 on the night.
Despite the score, CBU continued to compete with energy. Oluwaseun Osayemi was efficient off the bench, recording five kills on just seven swings for a .571 hitting percentage, and libero Sophia Nowacki anchored the defense with a team-high 16 digs.
Helms chipped in four kills and an ace, while Jenifer Cuyler contributed key points late in the third set.
The Lady Buccaneers will return home this weekend for a conference matchup at Canale Arena as they look to build on the strong stretches displayed in Nashville.
