Box Score MEMPHIS, TN. – Christian Brothers volleyball turned in a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, sweeping West Alabama 3–0 (25–19, 25–13, 25–14) inside Canale Arena.
The Lady Buccaneers (8–14, 3–8 GSC) controlled the match from start to finish, hitting an impressive .356 as a team while holding the Tigers (6–12, 2–9 GSC) to just .079.
Sophomore Ella Schumacher powered the offense with nine kills on a .533 hitting percentage, while Sarah Helms was close behind with eight kills at a .571 clip and added an ace. Calah Jackson and Addison Waggoner chipped in six kills a piece to keep CBU's attack balanced across all three sets.
Setter Ava Hillyer directed the offense with 16 assists, four service aces, and seven digs, while Carleiny Morillo added 11 assists and four digs. Defensively, Mattie Sewell anchored the net with six total blocks, including three solo.
Christian Brothers recorded nine total team blocks and six service aces, controlling every phase of the match. After taking the first set 25–19, the Lady Bucs built momentum with a dominant second frame highlighted by a seven-point blocking run. They closed the afternoon strong, using a 10–2 burst to seal the third set and complete the sweep.
