Christian Brothers Falls to UAH in Extra Innings Battle

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Christian Brothers dropped a tightly contested Gulf South Conference opener to UAH, 3-2, in extra innings Friday at Charger Park.

The Lady Buccaneers took an early lead, scoring a run in the second and another in the fourth. Catcher Kate Candies led the offense with two hits, including an RBI double that put Christian Brothers on the board in the second.

Senior Gabby Dickerson (3-3) went the distance in the circle, tossing 7.1 innings while allowing three earned runs on six hits. She struck out five and walked four in the losing effort.

UAH went ahead with a two-run third inning and delivered the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth.

Despite tallying eight hits, the Lady Buccaneers struggled to capitalize with runners in scoring position, stranding six on base.

Christian Brothers Drops Game Two to UAH, 9-1

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Christian Brothers fell to UAH 9-1 in the second game of Friday's Gulf South Conference doubleheader at Charger Park.

The Lady Buccaneers managed just four hits in the contest, with senior first baseman Riley Simpson leading the offense with a double and a run scored. Junior third baseman Katelyn Harmon drove in the lone run for CBU in the fourth inning.

Christian Brothers struggled defensively, committing three errors that contributed to the Chargers' offensive outburst. UAH capitalized with 14 hits, including a home run by third baseman Alexa Douthitt.

Junior pitcher Emily Schooler (1-2) took the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits over three innings. Junior Vivian Watts pitched in relief, surrendering five runs (four earned) on eight hits in 2.1 innings.

Christian Brothers Falls in Series Finale at UAH

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Christian Brothers jumped out to an early lead but could not hold off UAH, falling 5-4 in the series finale Saturday afternoon at Charger Park.

The Lady Buccaneers (6-6, 0-3 GSC) plated two runs in the first and added two more in the second, highlighted by a two-run triple from freshman Ashley Williamson and a two-run home run by senior Riley Simpson.

Despite the strong start, UAH (9-5, 3-0 GSC) responded with a three-run fourth inning to tie the score and added the go-ahead run in the sixth.

Simpson led CBU at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while senior outfielder Abigail Garrison recorded three hits.

Senior pitcher Gabby Dickerson allowed one unearned run on three hits over 2.2 innings. Fellow senior Haylee Alberson pitched in relief, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and six walks in 3.1 innings.
