Box Score 2 MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Christian Brothers volleyball bounced back in a big way Saturday afternoon, closing out Day 2 of the Tri-Match with a 3–1 win over Alcorn State (24–26, 25–14, 25–17, 25–15) inside Canale Arena.
After dropping a tight opening set, the Lady Bucs found their rhythm and dominated the next three frames behind efficient attacking and strong serving. CBU finished with 58 kills on .264 hitting, compared to just 35 for Alcorn.
Leading the charge was Calah Jackson, who posted a match-high 14 kills on .619 hitting, while also adding a block and 15 total points. Addison Waggoner matched her with 14 kills, plus seven digs and two aces for a 16-point performance.
The balanced attack continued with Sarah Helms (8 kills, 2 blocks, 10 points) and Ella Hillyer, who ran the offense with 17 assists and chipped in 7 digs and 4 aces. Setter Carleiny Morillo also dished out 17 assists, while libero Sophia Nowacki anchored the defense with a team-best 15 digs and 7 service aces.
CBU's serve pressure made the difference, totaling 15 aces on the day. Defensively, the Lady Bucs out-dug Alcorn 52–48 and limited the Braves to just a .179 hitting percentage.
With the win, Christian Brothers improved to 5–6 on the season, closing out the weekend on a high note after battling earlier against Arkansas-Monticello.
