Box Score MEMPHIS, Tn. – The Christian Brothers University volleyball team fell in straight sets to Valdosta State (26-24, 25-21, 25-21).
The Lady Bucs (5-8, 0-2 GSC) showed flashes of dominance, especially in the opening set, where they pushed the Blazers to extra points. CBU tallied 25 kills in the match, led by Addison Waggoner, who powered the offense with 8 kills, 7 digs, and a service ace. Ella Schumacher added efficiency at the net, finishing with 7 kills on a .238 hitting percentage, while Calah Jackson contributed 4 kills, 3 digs, and a block.
Defensively, Sophia Nowacki anchored the back row with a team-high 12 digs, and Carleiny Morillo spread the offense with 7 assists, 8 digs, and a service ace. Ava Hillyer also stood out with 11 assists and 2 digs, while serving tough to help keep CBU in each set.
The Lady Bucs racked up 7 aces on the night, with Sofia Rathheim-Hilton and Sarah Helms combining for three. Despite being edged in hitting percentage (.097 to .153), CBU stayed within striking distance until the final points of each set.
