Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

CBU Builds Momentum Despite Road Setback

Huntsville, AL- Christian Brothers battled through a tough afternoon on the road, showing flashes of growth despite falling 84–41 to UAH.

UAH came out hot offensively and built an early lead, but the Lady Bucs continued to compete and settled in during the second quarter, putting together a 7–0 run and finding better rhythm on both ends. CBU's best stretch came after halftime, where the offense moved the ball well and shot over 60% in the third quarter, showing what the group is capable of when things click.

Mariah Curley knocked down a key three at the end of the first quarter to give CBU momentum, while Alice Conrad worked the glass and finished in double-figure rebounds. Off the bench, the Bucs got valuable production and energy, with multiple players contributing to second-chance points and defensive stops. Emily Sawyer made the most of her minutes at the line, and Maria Braga added steady scoring.

Defensively, CBU forced turnovers and turned them into points, and the team held UAH to one of its lower third-quarter outputs of the day, a testament to continued effort and buy-in. The Bucs also outscored UAH in second-chance opportunities, showing toughness around the rim.

While the final score wasn't what CBU hoped for, the game provided meaningful reps for a young squad that continues to learn and grow together. With conference play still in full swing, the Lady Bucs will look to carry the third-quarter momentum, tighten up execution, and build on the positives as they move forward.
