CBU Women's Soccer Closes 2026 Season at Valdosta State, Looks Toward Future

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Christian Brothers University women's soccer team officially closed out its 2026 season Friday, October 23, falling 4-0 to Valdosta State at the VSU Soccer Complex.

The season finale marked the conclusion of the Buccaneers' first year under Head Coach Christopher Tadley, as CBU finished with a 1-12-2 overall record and an 0-9-2 mark in Gulf South Conference play.

Valdosta State controlled much of the contest, outshooting CBU 28-8, including a 16-4 advantage in shots on goal. Despite the result, Buccaneer goalkeeper Kaylee Allen delivered a strong individual performance, recording 12 saves, including six in each half.

The Blazers opened the scoring in the 41st minute when Sarah Hudson found the back of the net. Valdosta State extended its lead early in the second half on a goal from Jenni McIntosh in the 50th minute. Hudson added her second goal in the 62nd minute before Ameliah Dixon completed the scoring in the 78th minute.

Offensively, Sarah Elliott led the Buccaneers with three shots, while Lola Alonso, Cristal Tellez, and Julia Brandao each registered a shot on goal.

A Look Back at the 2026 Season

The Buccaneers began the season with a 3-2 victory over King University on August 29, giving Tadley his first win as CBU head coach.

CBU also earned two conference draws, battling Mississippi Christian to a 1-1 tie on September 23 and West Alabama to a scoreless draw on October 2.

Cristal Tellez and Karis Klindtworth led the Buccaneers offensively with two goals apiece, while Frida Bergqvist and Ellen Gaudry also contributed goals during the season.

CBU finished the year with six goals, four assists, 110 shots, and 56 shots on goal. The Buccaneers faced challenges throughout conference play, particularly on the offensive end, but continued competing through a difficult schedule.
