Bucs Split Start, Dropped Doubleheader as Montevallo Takes Series

Game 1: Christian Brothers 3, Montevallo 0
Christian Brothers opened the series with a strong all-around performance, earning a 3-0 win behind a dominant outing from Emily Schooler in the circle.

The Bucs struck early in the first inning when Mackenzie Gieseler delivered an RBI single to bring home Katelyn Harmon for a 1-0 lead. They added insurance in the fourth, highlighted by Marin Beeson's two-run double to right field that scored Dakota Davis and Abby Drabek, extending the lead to 3-0.

At the plate, Christian Brothers tallied 10 hits, with Kate Candies and Ashley Williamson each collecting two. Beeson led the way with two RBIs, while multiple players contributed extra-base hits to keep pressure on Montevallo pitching.

Schooler handled the rest, tossing a complete-game shutout. She allowed just two hits, walked one, and struck out six over seven innings to secure the win.

Game 2: Montevallo 3, Christian Brothers 0
In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, Montevallo evened the series with a 3-0 victory, using a key fourth inning to take control.

The Falcons broke through with a two-RBI single from Bentlee Stiner, plating two runs before adding another on a wild pitch later in the inning. That sequence accounted for all of Montevallo's scoring.

Christian Brothers recorded five hits but could not capitalize on opportunities. Mackenzie Gieseler led the offense with two hits, while Marin Beeson added a hit and a stolen base.

Lily Hurley took the loss after allowing three runs in 3.2 innings, while Vivian Watts provided solid relief, holding Montevallo scoreless over the final 2.1 innings.

Game 3: Montevallo 3, Christian Brothers 0
Montevallo secured the series in the final game with another 3-0 win, relying on timely hitting and limited chances for the Bucs offense.

The Falcons got on the board in the second inning with a two-run home run from Bentlee Stiner. They added an insurance run in the sixth, taking advantage of a stolen base sequence and a Christian Brothers error to make it 3-0.

The Bucs were held to just two hits in the contest, with Katelyn Harmon and Mackenzie Gieseler accounting for both.

Emily Schooler turned in another solid performance in the circle, allowing just two hits and striking out five across six innings, but received little run support. Montevallo's Taylor Lloyd kept Christian Brothers off balance throughout, tossing a complete-game shutout to close the series.
