CBU Athletics Welcomes Darius Jones as Strength and Conditioning Coach

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Christian Brothers University Athletics welcomes Darius Jones as its new Strength and Conditioning Coach, bringing extensive experience in athletic performance and student-athlete development to the Buccaneers.

Jones' passion for performance began during his time as a football player at the University of Memphis. He earned his bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance from Memphis in 2006 before receiving a Master's in Sport Science from the United States Sports Academy in 2012.

Throughout his career, Jones has worked with athletes at the high school and collegiate levels, including experience with University of Memphis athletics, D1 Sports, Kingsbury High School and Campbell Clinic's ACCEL Performance and Wellness program.

Jones is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and a certified Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. His experience includes developing strength programs, improving speed and movement, teaching proper lifting techniques and helping athletes prepare for competition.

At CBU, Jones will work with Buccaneer student-athletes across multiple programs with a focus on performance, strength, conditioning and injury prevention.

Jones is married to his wife, Latrena, and they have a daughter, Briana.
