MEMPHIS, TN. – Homecoming Saturday brought alumni, students, families and supporters back to Christian Brothers University, with the women's soccer team helping headline the afternoon at Signaigo Field in a Gulf South Conference matchup against Trevecca Nazarene.
Playing in front of the Homecoming crowd, the Buccaneers continued to compete despite falling 3-0. Trevecca scored twice in the opening half before adding its final goal late in the second. CBU continued to push forward, producing six second-half shots after recording four in the opening 45 minutes. The Bucs finished with 10 shots, including five on goal.
Ella Morton was one of CBU's biggest attacking threats, recording four shots with three on goal. Julia Brandao added two shots, while Mackenzie Allen also put an attempt on target.
In goal, Kaylee Allen faced a busy Trevecca attack and responded with 13 saves over 90 minutes, helping keep the Bucs in the contest. Trevecca finished with 19 total shots and 16 on goal.
While the final score did not fall CBU's way, Saturday was about more than one result. Homecoming provided an opportunity for past and present Buccaneers to come together at Signaigo Field and celebrate the university while supporting the current generation of student-athletes.
