MEMPHIS, TN. – Christian Brothers University fell to West Alabama in straight sets Tuesday night inside Canale Arena, dropping the Gulf South Conference matchup 25-14, 25-22, 25-19. The loss moved CBU to 4-13 overall and 0-6 in GSC play.
The Bucs battled closest in the second set, recording 13 kills before falling 25-22. CBU also held a 9-3 advantage in total blocks for the match.
Alana Martinez led CBU with six kills, while Sarah Helms added five kills and three solo blocks. Sophia Nowacki led the defense with 17 digs, and Carleiny Morillo finished with 15 assists, six digs and two service aces.
The Bucs will look to regroup as they continue Gulf South Conference play.
