Massa, a native of Muscle Shoals, Ala. enters her 12th year as the Golf coach at Christian Brothers University. She added the title of Women's Golf Coach as the school added the program in 2004, and she coached the women's team through the 2008-09 season.
One of the top female golfers in the city, Massa had an outstanding amateur career. In 1991, she competed in the United States National Ladies Club Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona. The tournament was comprised of the club champions and the runners up from across the nation. Massa finished among the top 20 percent.
She has twice been the club runner up at Colonial Country Club and was also the club runner up at the prestigious Tournament Players Club at Southwind, as well as Turtle Point Country Club in Florence, Alabama.
Massa has participated in tournaments with some of the top female players in the world including Pat Bradley, Betsy King and Mitzi Edge. She also has played with PGA members Loren Roberts and Dickey Pride.
Massa has recently helped to start the First Tee Program in Memphis. Designed to help underprivileged boys and girls get into the game of golf, the program is held at different courses throughout the city.
