Jordan Bastian enters her second season as Head Softball Coach at Christian Brothers University. Bastian was introduced, on July 15, 2019. Bastian comes to CBU after spending five seasons at Culver-Stockton College (Mo.).

In her first season as head coach, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bastian led the Lady Bucs to their most Gulf South Conference wins since 2016. The Lady Bucs knocked off Auburn Montgomery, which finished with 17 wins. CBU also earned a GSC win against Lee, marking the second victory over the Flames in program history.

"Following a detailed search, I'm pleased to welcome Jordan Bastian to the CBU family," said Summers. "Jordan made an impression on our search participants. In particular, her program-building success, focus on high academic standards, and storied playing career were attributes that convinced us she was the right candidate to lead CBU softball."

In five seasons, Bastian led the Wildcats to a 131-114 overall record, including a 31-21 mark in 2019. In her second season, the Wildcats went 32-17 marking the most victories by the Wildcats since the 2004 campaign.

"My family and I feel incredibly blessed for this opportunity to become a part of the Christian Brothers family" said Bastian. "I would like to thank Brian SummersDonna Crone and the rest of the staff for entrusting me with this position. It is an honor and privilege to be at the helm for the new era of Buccaneer softball. The future looks bright and I am excited and ready to get started!"

Under Bastian, Culver-Stockton had 12 players named to the all-conference team, including seven first team selections, and a freshman of the year. In 2019, Avery Johnson became the first player to be named to the NAIA All-America team under Bastian, earning second team honors.

In addition, four players were recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as all-region selections, and 19 have earned Daktronics/NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors. The 2017-18 team led all NAIA softball teams with nine scholar-athletes named. That follows the 2016-17 team leading all Heart of America Athletic Conference core sports with a 3.68 grade point average. Bastian's teams in 2018 and 2019 earned the school's Athletic Director's Academic Excellence Team Award for the highest team GPA.

The Metamora, Ill., native came to Culver-Stockton after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant at her alma mater, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University. During that time, she helped with planning practices, travel preparation, recruiting, fundraising and field maintenance. ONU qualified for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament both years, and participated in the NAIA Softball World Series, in 2014.

As a player at ONU, Bastian was named to the NAIA All-America first-team in 2012 and was a second team selection in 2010 and 2011. She broke the NAIA career record for runs scored (292), hits (357) and total bases (588).

For her career, Bastian finished with a .436 batting average, a .510 on-base percentage and a .712 slugging percentage. She had 88 doubles, 39 home runs, 211 RBIs, 109 walks and 158 stolen bases. Her effort earned her the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Player of the Year award three times and was named to the All-CCAC team all four seasons.

Bastian graduated from Olivet Nazarene with a degree in business administration in 2012, and her Master of Business Administration degree from ONU in 2014. She was named NAIA Scholar-Athlete twice and named to the CCAC All-Academic team three times.
