Jessie Carmack enters her fifth season as head coach of the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team. She was introduced as Head Women's Basketball Coach, on August 12, 2019. Carmack comes to CBU after spending seven seasons as an assistant coach at Ohio Dominican University.

"From nearly 100 applicants, Jessie Carmack distinguished herself as the candidate who was hungry and ready to assume control of the CBU women's basketball program," said Summers. "Jessie has been around good coaches and good programs. She played for and coached with a pair of national championship-winning coaches, and has been part of building Ohio Dominican into a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contender. I look forward to her applying those experiences to CBU and elevating our program's status in the GSC."
Carmack helped lead the Panthers to a 105-90 overall record, including at least 18 wins in three of the last four seasons. ODU went 20-9 in 2015-16, which is tied for second most in program history.
"I feel incredibly blessed, and excited, to be joining the Christian Brothers family and the Memphis community," said Carmack. "I would like to thank Brian Summers, Donna Crone and the rest of the athletics staff for their support, and for believing in me to lead the women's basketball program. I am eager to get started, and am looking forward to helping develop our young women to have success on and off the court."
In the 2015-16 season, the Panthers were ranked as high as No. 6 in the NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings. During the 2016-17 season, the Panthers were again regionally ranked and finished the campaign 18-10. ODU capped off the 2017-18 season with a mark of 18-11, while appearing in the regional rankings.
In 2014-15, Carmack helped ODU to one of its best seasons offensively since joining Division II (2011-12) as ODU ranked in the top half of the conference in scoring, field goals made and free throw percentage in 2014-15.
Carmack also has played a part in the Panthers' success in the classroom, where ODU led the nation in GPA in 2013 and 2015 and ranked second in 2014.
The Clarksville, Ohio native came to ODU after serving as an assistant coach at Thomas More College, where she helped the Saints to their seventh straight conference championship and sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance. While at Thomas More, Carmack had two guards named First Team All-PAC while a third earned honorable mention all-conference honors.
Prior to her time at Thomas More, Carmack spent a year at Wilmington College as an assistant women's basketball coach and head women's tennis coach. She had one guard named Honorable Mention All-OAC during her time with the Quakers.
Carmack also spent four seasons as an assistant coach for the Dayton Lady Hoopstars Premier program.
As a player, Carmack helped her teams (Army, Ohio Dominican and Northern Kentucky) to a combined 66-26 record. As a junior at NKU, she led the team in three-point shooting and helped the team to an NCAA Tournament berth.
Off the court, Carmack worked with both the Anthony Munoz Foundation and Athletes in Action. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Business from Northern Kentucky.
