Christian Brothers University Athletics

Originally from Santa Bárbara D’Oeste, Brazil, Giovana Costarelli joined Christian Brothers University as a graduate assistant coach while pursuing her MBA. She played volleyball for 11 years, transitioning from right side/outside hitter to setter, and helped lead her teams to multiple championships. Her career includes honors such as MVP, Setter of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and several academic awards, including WJCAC and GCAC All-Academic Teams.

Passionate about giving back to the sport, she’s excited to mentor student-athletes and work alongside Coach Spurgeon, who coached her over the past two seasons. Ms. Costarelli chose CBU for its competitive spirit, strong community, and commitment to holistic student-athlete development.
