Jackson Lenoir joined the CBU volleyball staff in the summer of 2018 and is currently in his second season as an assistant with the Buccaneer Volleyball Program. Lenoir comes to CBU with six years of coaching experience on the collegiate and club levels. Most recently, Lenoir served as the Graduate Assistant Men’s and Women’s volleyball coach at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. At the Cliff, he worked under Coach Schirman, a former NCAA player of the year at UCLA and a member on the United States National Team. Lenoir also coached for two club seasons at Midwest Volleyball Power, the premier volleyball club in Sioux City. In 2015, he served as the student assistant coach at Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee and helped guide the team to the Appalachian Athletic Conference championship match.Â
Lenoir also had a successful playing career at both the collegiate and club levels. In his last semester at Briar Cliff, he was a member on the Men’s volleyball team. In the Spring of 2018, he played Middle Blocker and Opposite Hitter in the squad’s most successful season in school history. The team made their first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Tournament and were ranked as high as #3 in the country. Lenoir led the team in service aces, hitting percentage, and was third on the team in kills.Â
He was also a member on the tennis team and club volleyball program at Milligan. He was an Outside Hitter and Middle Blocker on the volleyball team. In tennis, he was voted to the All-AAC team all four years in his career and served as a captain his last two seasons. He helped lead his team to an AAC championship in 2013, a first in program history. In high school, Lenoir played for Southern Storm volleyball club located out of Atlanta. He was a two-time TSSAA State Finalist in singles in tennis and helped lead his team to a 3rd place finish at the TSSAA State Tournament in their first-ever appearance. He also was a starter in basketball, helping the team to the TSSAA State Tournament twice.Â
Both of Jackson’s parents played at the University of Tennessee. His father played football and his mother played volleyball and was an All-SEC standout with records still standing today. Jackson’s brother, Bailey, was an All-SOCON selection in football at UT-Chattanooga. Jackson’s sister, Emma, is a current player on the CBU women’s volleyball team.Â
Lenoir has worked numerous summer volleyball camps including ones at the University of Tennessee and the University of Memphis. He has also worked the USA Delta Region High Performance Camp, one of the premier youth volleyball camps in the south. He currently coaches club volleyball at Memphis Volleyball Academy in Olive Branch, Mississippi. He also is currently on staff at the University Club of Memphis as an Assistant Tennis Professional Instructor, one of the premier tennis clubs in the state.Â
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Milligan College in 2016 and his Master of Arts in Sports Management from Briar Cliff University in 2018. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Christian Brothers. Lenoir is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
