Kimmy Hammond enters her first season as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Christian Brothers University volleyball team, after spending three seasons as a starter for the Bucs.
During her playing career, Hammond accumulated 956 digs, 130 assists and 66 aces. She led the team in digs in each of her three seasons, with her most being 564 during the 2021 season. In 2021, Hammond led CBU and finished 10th in the Gulf South Conference with 37 aces.Â
Hammond had a career-high 31 digs against West Georgia (10.29.22), which ranks 10th in CBU single-match history.Â
While at Christian Brothers, Hammond thrived in the classroom earning the Biology Faculty Award, while also being named a Buc Bronze Scholar two times. She was also inducted into the National Biology Honors Society.Â
Before CBU, Hammond spent two years at McHenry County College where she was a two time First Team All-conference selection at libero. In 2019 the Johnsburg, Ill., native was named the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Libero of the Year. Hammond also was named an Academic All-American during her 2019 campaign.Â
Hammond graduated in 2023 with a bachelor of science in biology. She is now working on her masters in business administration with a concentration in healthcare management.Â
