Memphis, TN- Christian Brothers University Women's Basketball is excited to welcome Zahra Cross as the program's new Assistant Coach.
"I'm excited Zahra will be joining the CBU Women's Basketball Staff. She is a young, energetic coach with recruiting ties to Texas and Oklahoma. She had a great playing career and has gained some experience in the past couple of seasons coaching. A standout guard during her collegiate career at Schreiner and Converse Universities, Cross brings leadership, toughness, and experience to the coaching staff. She was a two-time SCAC All-Conference selection and earned SCAC Newcomer of the Year honors in 2019–20. Over four seasons, she appeared in over 80 games, averaging 10.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.
In her senior season, she started 26 of 27 games, led her team in free throws made (102), and averaged 10.7 points and 1.5 steals per game.
Cross is known for her high basketball IQ, strong work ethic, and commitment to player development—qualities that will make her a valuable asset on the sidelines. Welcome, Coach Cross!
