MEMPHIS—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs swept a three-set match from visiting Freed-Hardeman Tuesday night at Canale Arena.
The Lady Bucs (4-1) struggled with blocks in last weekend's Christian Brothers University Tournament, never logging more than five in a match, but they picked up 12 blocks in three sets Tuesday, paced by seven from
Hanna Orendorff (Renton, Wash./Liberty HS).
Orendorff, who was named GSC West Offensive Player of the Week earlier in the day, also led CBU with nine kills and a .444 hitting percentage.
Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) had eight kills and a team-high nine digs, while
Kelly Nolan (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain HS) collected seven kills and five blocks.
The Lady Bucs will return to the court this weekend in the University of North Alabama Classic, beginning a stretch of nine straight road matches. At the UNA Classic, they will face Northern Kentucky, Truman State, Indianapolis, and California (Pa.). Their next home date is Tuesday, Sept. 15, against Rhodes at 7 p.m.
