Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CARROLLTON, Ga.—The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs split a twinbill at West Georgia Sunday afternoon, winning game two 10-5 after dropping the opener 5-2 in their final doubleheader of the Gulf South Conference season.

The Lady Bucs (12-29, 7-20 GSC) scored 10 runs over the first three innings in game two.  After a walk to Allyson Grooms (Buena Vista, Tenn./Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central HS) and a two-base error kept the inning alive, Taylor Rosa-Ramon (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/James Campbell HS) hit a two-run single up the middle to put the Lady Bucs ahead 2-0.  After UWG (14-38, 6-22) scored a run in the bottom of the first, the Lady Bucs added three more in the second inning.  Olivia Kegler (Ballwin, Mo./Cor Jesu Academy) started the rally when she was hit by a pitch with one out.  Amy Gracia (Fontana, Calif./International Polytechnic HS) singled, and Grooms was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out.  A Jennifer Gonzalez (Covina, Calif./Charter Oak HS) groundout and singles by Marie Joiner (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente HS) and Rosa-Ramon extended the Lady Bucs' lead to 5-1.

UWG scored twice in the bottom of the second, but the Lady Bucs put it away in the third inning.  After Rachel Kelly (Olive Branch, Miss./DeSoto Central HS) reached on a leadoff error, Emily Schmidt (Olive Branch, Miss./Center Hill HS) singled.  A sacrifice and a fielder's choice followed, cutting down Kelly at the plate trying to score.  Grooms worked another walk to load the bases, allowing Gonzalez to hit a three-run single to right.  Joiner followed with a two-run homer, and the Lady Bucs led 10-3.  UWG scored once in the third and fifth innings to set the final margin.

For the game, Joiner went 3-for-5 with three RBI, while Rosa-Ramon and Schmidt collected two hits each.  Gonzalez scored three runs with four RBI, and Grooms scored three times.  Rosa-Ramon added three RBI.

In the opener it was UWG who took control with an early offensive outburst.  They used two singles, a double, and an error to score twice in the first inning, and they scored three runs in the second on three singles and a double.

The Lady Bucs shaved a run off the deficit in the fourth when Joiner singled and scored on a Nikki Story (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) single, and they cut the lead to 5-2 in the sixth, when Rosa-Ramon walked, moved to third on a double by Story, and scored on a Kelly sacrifice fly.

Story went 2-for-2 in the game, and Gracia was 2-for-4.

With the win in game two, the Lady Bucs clinched the No. 7 seed in the GSC Tournament next weekend at Greenbrook Park in Southaven.  They wrap up the regular season Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m., when they host Blue Mountain.  The Lady Bucs will open GSC Tournament play Friday against No. 22 Alabama-Huntsville.
