Wright Returns to CBU as Head Coach

Paige Wright is the new head coach of the CBU softball program.
MEMPHIS—Christian Brothers University Director of Athletics Joe Nadicksbernd announces former CBU softball star Paige Wright as the fifth head coach in the program's history.

Wright played shortstop for the Lady Bucs in 2007-08, when she hit .317 with 53 hits, including 14 doubles and five home runs.  She ranks ninth in school history in career homers and 13th in doubles.  Wright also served as student assistant coach for CBU in 2007 after she suffered a season-ending injury 10 games into the season.  Wright graduated from CBU with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance in 2008.

"I hope to pass along the passion I have for this great game to each one of my players," Wright said.  "I'm really looking forward to this fall and a great spring season."

After graduation, Wright served as assistant coach at Senatobia High School.  Wright has coached at numerous camps at CBU, Delta State, and Senatobia High School, as well as giving private lessons.  She has also both played and coached in the Junior Olympics program.

"I'm excited to have her back on campus," said Nadicksbernd.  "She has a passion for CBU, and I'm excited about the future of CBU softball under her leadership."

Wright has appointed Keeley Seniuk as assistant coach.  Seniuk, a native of Phoenix, Ariz., played four years at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., and she served as assistant coach at Rhodes last season.

Wright replaces Kimmi Hayden, who resigned to return to her native San Diego to be closer to her family.
