Marie Joiner went 4-for-7, but host West Florida swept the Lady Bucs 4-1 and 3-2 Saturday.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PENSACOLA, Fla.–In game one, host West Florida rallied late. In game two, the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs made the late rally. In both cases, however, the hosts claimed victory, winning 4-1 in the opener and 3-2 in the nightcap Saturday afternoon.

In the opener, the Lady Bucs (11-26, 7-23 GSC) took the lead in the top of the first inning. Nikki Story (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) hit a one-out single to left and moved to second when Taylor Rosa-Ramon (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/James Campbell HS) reached on an error. Jennifer Gonzalez (Covina, Calif./Charter Oak HS) followed with an RBI single to left, giving the Lady Bucs a 1-0 edge. The lead held until the bottom of the fifth, when UWF (18-22, 11-15) used a leadoff double, a flyout, and a squeeze bunt to score the tying run.

UWF took the lead an inning later, scoring three runs on two singles and two doubles.

Gonzalez went 2-for-3 in the game for the Lady Bucs.

In game two, it was the Argos who took the early lead, using a pair of singles to create a first-inning run and scoring twice in the third on four singles. The Lady Bucs clawed back into the game at the end. In the sixth, Kasey Beekman (Aurora, Colo./Aliso Niguel (Calif.) HS) walked and scored on an Emily Schmidt (Olive Branch, Miss./Center Hill HS) double to the gap in left-center. The Lady Bucs drew within a run in the seventh, loading the bases with one out as walks by Story and Allyson Grooms (Buena Vista, Tenn./Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central HS) sandwiched a Joiner single. With two out, Gonzalez coaxed a walk to cut the deficit to 3-2, but a flyout to center ended the game.

Joiner went 3-for-4 in the game, while Beekman threw two scoreless innings of relief.

The Lady Bucs wrap up the regular season tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. as they visit Valdosta State.
