CLEVELAND, Miss.-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs scored twice in each half as they claimed a 4-0 win over Delta State Friday afternoon.
Mariana Tonelli (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) gave CBU (9-2, 5-2 GSC) all the scoring it would need in the 10th minute as she scored off a cross from
Camilla Rodrigues (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School). Rodrigues found
Alex Swanson (Memphis, Tenn./Arlington HS) with a cross in the 37th minute that led to the game's second goal.
In the second half, Swanson returned the favor, feeding Rodrigues for a goal in the 65th minute to extend the CBU lead to 3-0. The Lady Bucs set the final margin in the 83rd minute when Swanson scored unassisted.
For the game, the Lady Bucs out-shot DSU (2-8-1, 0-6) 15-8, including a 9-4 edge in shots on goal.
Robyn Wade (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) made four saves in the victory.
The Lady Bucs return to action Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they visit Mississippi College. Their next home game is Friday, Oct. 17, as they host North Alabama at 5 p.m.
