Lady Bucs Drop Lady Choctaws 3-1

CLINTON, Miss.-Three different players scored as the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs won 3-1 at Mississippi College Sunday afternoon to move back into a tie for first place in the Gulf South Conference standings.

The Lady Bucs (10-2, 6-2 GSC) struck first in the fourth minute as Lauren Browning (Memphis, Tenn./St. Agnes Academy) scored her first goal of the season as she converted off a Camilla Rodrigues (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) corner kick. Alex Bickenbach (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) tacked on another score in the 38th minute as she scored unassisted to give CBU a 2-0 lead.

Early in the second half, the Lady Choctaws (8-4-1, 3-3-1) cut the lead in half on Meghan Mauzy's 53rd-minute goal, but Rodrigues scored her seventh of the season in the 72nd minute to set the final margin.

The Lady Choctaws out-shot CBU 17-12 for the game, with each team putting eight shots on goal. Robyn Wade (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) made seven saves for the Lady Bucs to earn the victory.

The Lady Bucs play their next four games at home, beginning Friday night at 5 p.m. as they host North Alabama.
