CLINTON, Miss.-Three different players scored as the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs won 3-1 at Mississippi College Sunday afternoon to move back into a tie for first place in the Gulf South Conference standings.
The Lady Bucs (10-2, 6-2 GSC) struck first in the fourth minute as
Lauren Browning (Memphis, Tenn./St. Agnes Academy) scored her first goal of the season as she converted off a
Camilla Rodrigues (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) corner kick.
Alex Bickenbach (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) tacked on another score in the 38th minute as she scored unassisted to give CBU a 2-0 lead.
Early in the second half, the Lady Choctaws (8-4-1, 3-3-1) cut the lead in half on Meghan Mauzy's 53rd-minute goal, but Rodrigues scored her seventh of the season in the 72nd minute to set the final margin.
The Lady Choctaws out-shot CBU 17-12 for the game, with each team putting eight shots on goal.
Robyn Wade (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) made seven saves for the Lady Bucs to earn the victory.
The Lady Bucs play their next four games at home, beginning Friday night at 5 p.m. as they host North Alabama.
