Camilla Rodrigues (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, American School) scored both goals as the Lady Bucs rallied to a 2-1 overtime win over Trevecca Nazarene Monday night at Signaigo Field.
The Trojans (8-4-2) opened the scoring in the 52nd minute as Hannah Barney sent a throughball ahead to Diana Corzine on the left side of the, who dribbled past CBU (11-3) goalkeeper
Emily Wragg (Nottingham, England/The Becket School) and sent a shot in that bounced across the right post and went in for the goal.
Rodrigues answered in the 66th minute as she scored on a corner kick, curling it from the right corner into the top left part of the net. Neither team could find the net again over the final 24 minutes, sending the game to overtime.
Rodrigues sent everyone home in the 93rd minute. She collected a throw-in in traffic at the top right corner of the 18-yard box. She played the ball over one defender, regained possession, spun past two more and fired a shot into the left side of the net for the golden goal.
For the game, the Lady Bucs out-shot Trevecca 15-6, including a 12-5 edge in the second half and a 7-2 edge in shots on goal. Wragg made one save to earn the victory.
The Lady Bucs return to action Friday night at 5 p.m. as they host Lee.
