Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs split a doubleheader with host Stillman Thursday afternoon, winning the opener 6-2 but dropping a 3-0 decision in the nightcap.

In the opener, it was the Lady Tigers (13-25) who claimed an early lead, cashing in on a walk, a single, a wild pitch and a pair of groundouts to score two runs. The Lady Bucs (6-27) equalized in the top of the fourth inning, when Taylor Rosa-Ramon (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/James Campbell HS) singled and Kylie Steagall (San Diego, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) followed with her seventh home run of the season, moving her into sole possession of second place on CBU's single-season home run list.

The Lady Bucs took the lead for good in the fifth as Bianca Cowan (Byhalia, Miss./Center Hill HS) reached on an error and scored on a Marie Joiner (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente HS) double. The Lady Bucs tacked on three more in the seventh to set the final margin. Cowan started the rally with a one-out bunt single, and Joiner singled her to third. After Joiner stole second, Nikki Story (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) laid down a bunt single and stole second herself. Rosa-Ramon reached on an error, driving Joiner in, and Story scored on a passed ball to set the final margin.

Joiner went 3-for-4 in the game for CBU, and Kim Adams (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) was 2-for-4. Steagall drove in two runs, and Cowan scored twice. Adams earned the win, tossing a complete game, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk.

In the second game, Stillman scored a run in each of the first three innings to account for all the game's scoring. In the first, they used a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly to score a run, and they added one in the second on a walk, a sacrifice bunt and a single. They set the final margin in the third on an Ashlee Handley homer.

Cowan and Steagall went 2-for-3 in the game for the Lady Bucs, who left at least one runner on base in all but the first inning.

The Lady Bucs return to action Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they host Union for a GSC doubleheader.
