MEMPHIS-Christian Brothers University junior forward
Mariana Tonelli (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, American School) scored her first goal of the season for the only goal in the Lady Bucs' 1-0 win over visiting Harding Friday night at Signaigo Field.
Chelsea Casaccia (Tampa, Fla./St. Benedict HS) started the scoring sequence for the Lady Bucs (3-0) when she fired a shot on target in the 32nd minute. A Harding (0-4) defender blocked the shot, deflecting it directly to Tonelli for the goal.
From there, the Lady Bucs and senior goalkeeper
Robyn Wade (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) clamped down to preserve their second shutout of the season and the 16th of Wade's career. Wade made three saves in the victory.
For the game, the Lady Bucs out-shot Harding 14-6, including a 4-3 edge in shots on goal. CBU held a 6-1 edge in shots in the first half, out-shooting the Lady Bisons 8-5 in the second half.
