VALDOSTA, Ga.-Host Valdosta State remained unbeaten with a three-set victory over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• In the opening set, the Lady Bucs (5-9, 2-6 GSC) took early leads of 7-3 and 12-6, but VSU (12-0, 7-0) answered with a seven-point run to take a 13-12 lead, then followed with a six-point run to open a 21-16 lead en route to a 25-18 win.
• In the second set it was the Blazers who took command early, taking a 14-6 lead. CBU answered with a four-point run to pull within 14-10, but the Blazers never allowed them closer than four and VSU pulled away to a 25-15 win.
• The Lady Bucs jumped to an early 7-1 advantage in the third set, leading by as many as seven points at 11-4 before VSU answered with an 8-1 run to tie the set at 12. The Lady Bucs led as late as 22-21 before VSU scored three straight to regain the lead, eventually winning 25-23 to clinch the win.

Alexis Gillis (Corpus Christi, Texas/Carroll HS) led CBU with 14 kills to go with seven digs.

Mary Kathryn Miller (Fulton, Ky./Fulton City HS) and
Brinsley Cooper (Rossville, Ind./Rossville HS) added seven kills each.

Marisa Wong (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) logged 13 digs.
