MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs won the first set, but visiting Southern Arkansas won the next three Tuesday night to claim a four-set victory at Canale Arena.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Lady Bucs (5-10) led throughout the opening set, taking full control with a five-point run to take an 11-3 lead on a
Jessica Reber (Byron, Ill./Byron HS) ace. The Lady Bucs would lead by as many as nine points on their way to a 25-18 win.
• In the second set, SAU (10-8) used a four-point run to break a 14-14 tie, and they followed with a five-point run to stretch their lead to 23-16, eventually winning 25-18.
• The Lady Bucs jumped to a 5-0 lead in the third set and led 15-8 on a
Nina Tuszynski (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley HS) kill. The Lady Muleriders battled back to tie the set at 17, taking the lead for good with a three-point run to take a 20-18 edge on their way to a 25-22 win.
• In the fourth set, CBU again took a quick 5-1 lead, but SAU used an 8-1 run to take a 10-7 edge. CBU regained the lead with a four-point run capped by a
Brinsley Cooper (Rossville, Ind./Rossville HS) kill that left them ahead 14-13, but the Lady Muleriders took the lead for good with a 6-1 run that gave them a 22-18 edge, and they held on to win 25-21.
KEY STATS:•
Alexis Gillis (Corpus Christi, Texas/Carroll HS) led the Lady Bucs with 14 kills and 16 digs.
• Cooper hit .444 with 14 kills.
• Tuszynski hit .357 as she pounded a career-best 12 kills to go with five digs.
• Reber dished out 46 assists with nine digs and five blocks.

Blythe Clausen (Hendersonvile, Tenn./Pope John Paul II HS) notched 12 digs.
WHAT'S NEXT:The Lady Bucs return to action Friday night at 7 p.m. as they host West Georgia. They also play at home Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. against West Alabama.
