Wolves Stop Lady Bucs 73-55

CARROLLTON, Ga.-Host West Georgia never trailed in a 73-55 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday afternoon.

The Wolves (14-9, 9-8 GSC) took full control with an 18-6 run midway through the first half, taking a 27-12 lead on a Marion Lemonnier three-pointer with 4:43 remaining. CBU (7-16, 5-12) never came closer than nine points again, with UWG leading by as many as 32 points in the second half.

Breanna Ridgell (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) led the Lady Bucs with 21 points, moving her within 64 points of head coach Sarah Condra (1999-04) for the school's career scoring record. Condra scored 1,506 points in her career, while Ridgell has 1,442. She added one steal, giving her 178 career steals, two behind the school record held by Taneisha Lenon (1996-00). Madison Luckett (Memphis, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) scored 10, while Mikaela Blissett (Sikeston, Mo./Scott County Central HS) matched her career-high with eight points.

Taylor Beverly paced the Wolves with 12 points, and Aysha Harris scored 10.

The Wolves shot 53.1 percent (26-of-49) to the Lady Bucs' 39.2 percent (20-of-51). UWG out-rebounded the Lady Bucs 29-27. CBU held a 10-7 edge in offensive rebounds, but they committed 12 turnovers while the Wolves committed eight.

The Lady Bucs finish the regular season with four of their last five games at home, beginning Thursday night at 5 p.m. when they host West Florida.
