MEMPHIS-Three Christian Brothers University pitchers combined to throw a seven-hit shutout as the Bucs won 10-0 at LeMoyne-Owen Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Bucs (8-9) used a two-out rally in the top of the first for all the offense they would need.
Stephen Joe (Madison, Miss./Ridgeland HS) was hit by a pitch. Three pitches after sending a foul ball over the left-field fence,
Cameron Coker (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) launched an RBI double off the top of the fence in left-center to score Joe and give the Bucs a 1-0 lead.
• The Bucs tacked on two runs in the third inning.
Lucas Castleberry (Bryant, Ark./Bryant HS) was hit by a pitch and
Casey Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) walked. After a Joe flyout moved Castleberry to third, a wild pitch scored him. Goodwin scored when Coker reached on a two-out error, giving CBU a 3-0 ege.
• CBU added three runs to its lead an inning later.
Joe Mattson (Nashville, Tenn./Franklin Road Academy) was hit by a pitch, and Castleberry legged out an infield single.
Mickey Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Arlington HS) drove Mattson in with a sacrifice fly. Goodwin singled Castleberry to third, and both scored when Joe doubled to right field to put the Bucs ahead 6-0.
• The Bucs set the final margin with a four-run eighth inning.
Blain Curtis (Atoka, Tenn./Tipton Rosemark Academy) reached on an error, and Mattson worked a walk. After a
Charles Kelly (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett HS) sacrifice bunt, Castleberry hit a two-run single through the left side. Castleberry scored from first on Smith's single down the right-field line. After Smith moved to second on the throw home, a wild pitch brought him to third and a Goodwin sacrifice fly scored him.
KEY STATS:• Castleberry was 2-for-3 with a hit by pitch, three runs and two RBI.
• Goodwin went 2-for-3 with two runs, a walk and one RBI.
• Smith and Joe each went 1-for-3 with a run and two RBI.
• Mattson was 0-for-2 but drew a walk and a hit by pitch and scored twice.

Will Rutledge (Nashville, Tenn./Father Ryan HS) earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings as he scattered four hits and a walk against three strikeouts, improving his record to 1-0.

Jake Porter (Mount Juliet, Tenn./Mount Juliet HS) threw two scoreless innings, allowing two hits with one strikeout.

Ryan Abone (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) tossed a scoreless eighth inning, pitching around one hit.

Michael Lartigue (Southaven, Miss./Southaven HS) pitched a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout.
NOTABLE:• The Bucs only allowed two runners to reach second base, one in the first and one in the fifth.
• Coker's first-inning double extended his hitting streak to 12 games. He has reahced base safely in all 17 games, including at least one hit in 15.
• Cooley has reached base safely in 16 of the Bucs' 17 games, including at least one hit in 14.
