MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs tied or broke 15 school records as they swept a doubleheader from LeMoyne-Owen 29-0 and 29-1 Tuesday afternoon.
GAME 1:WHAT HAPPENED:CBU (9-25) senior outfielder
Jennifer Gonzalez (Covina, Calif./Charter Oak HS) broke four school records and tied a fifth as the Lady Bucs won 29-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• CBU scored 11 runs on eight hits in the first inning. Gonzalez and
Kylie Steagall (San Diego, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) opened the scoring with home runs on back-to-back pitches.
Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) hit a two-run double, and Gonzalez and Steagall each added another RBI single in the frame.
• The Lady Bucs tacked on six more in the second.
Leigh Ward (Oriental, N.C./Pamlico HS) opened the scoring with a bunt single, and she scored on a three-base throwing error. Gonzalez blasted a three-run homer to right-center to tie her own school record for RBI's in a game.
• CBU added nine more runs in the bottom of the third inning. Gonzalez opened the scoring when she belted an RBI double, breaking the school records for RBI and total bases in a game.
Gabriela Nodine (Redlands, Calif./Redlands HS) hit a pinch-hit RBI double.
Alana Byrd (Jackson, Tenn./Liberty Magnet HS) hit a three-run triple to right, and
Taylor Rosa-Ramon (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/James Campbell HS) added an RBI double. Gonzalez capped the scoring with another RBI single, giving her a school-record 31 RBI's for the season and giving her the first five-hit game in school history.
• The Lady Bucs set the final margin with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Amanda Wade (Water Valley, Ky./Graves County HS) hit a two-run double to right field in her first plate appearance of the season, and
Tiari-Jay Fernandez (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani HS) singled her home.
KEY STATS:• Gonzalez went 5-for-5 with two homers, a double, four runs and eight RBI.
• Oyhenart was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBI.
• Rosa-Ramon went 2-for-5 with a double and three runs.

Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
• Ward went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Kasey Beekman (Aurora, Colo./Aliso Niguel (Calif.) HS) threw a two-hit shutout, striking out a career-high 11 batters against no walks in five innings.
GAME 2:WHAT HAPPENED:The Lady Bucs scored a school-record 16 runs in the second inning as they rolled to a 29-1 win to complete the sweep.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• CBU opened the scoring with a six-run first inning.
Lauren Provence (Millington, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) hit a two-run single, and
Alexis Seward (Chino, Calif./Chino HS) capped the inning with an RBI triple.
• The Lady Bucs sent 20 batters to the plate in the second inning as they scored 16 runs. Gracia hit a two-run single, and
Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) smoked an RBI double. Gonzalez and Provence each hit two-run doubles, and Oyhenart capped the inning with a two-run triple to left-center to give CBU a 22-0 lead.
• Provence hit an RBI double in the bottom of the third to extend the lead to 23-0.
• The Lady Magicians (1-18) scored their lone run of the day in the top of the fourth on a two-out error after a single and a walk.
• The Lady Bucs set the final margin in the bottom of the fourth with six more runs. Fernandez hit a three-run triple to right-center, and Parsels ended the scoring with an RBI double.

• Provence went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and seven RBI.
