MEMPHIS-No. 11 Alabama-Huntsville used a five-run fifth inning to pull away to an 8-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• UAH (32-9, 19-6 GSC) scored two runs in the top of the second inning on a walk, a single and two errors.
• The Lady Chargers added a run to their lead in the top of the fourth on a hit batter, a stolen base and an error.
• UAH set the final margin with a five-run fifth, converting on a walk, three singles, a double and a home run.
KEY STATS:•
Leigh Ward (Oriental, N.C./Pamlico HS) went 1-for-2 with a stolen base.
• Amy Gacia went 1-for-1.
