Lady Bucs Rally Past Lee 5-2

MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs scored three runs with two out in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie and win 5-2 Saturday at Bland Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Lee (29-17, 16-11 GSC) opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the third inning, converting on a double, two errors and a single.
• CBU (10-39, 3-24) tied the game with two in the bottom of the fourth. Holly Oyhenart (Menifee, Calif./Paloma Valley HS) led off with a single, and Jennifer Gonzalez (Covina, Calif./Charter Oak HS) worked a walk. After Lauren Provence (Millington, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian HS) sacrificed them to second and third, singles by Taylor Rosa-Ramon (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/James Campbell HS) and Olivia Parsels (Germantown, Tenn./St. Benedict HS) scored them to tie the game at 2.
• CBU broke up the tie with a two-out rally in the sixth. Ali Hare (Cape Coral, Fla./Ida Baker HS) worked a two-out walk to start the rally, and Alexis Seward (Chino, Calif./Chino HS) singled through the left side. Amy Gracia (Fontana, Calif./International Polytechnic HS) reached on an infield error, and Hare scored from second. Leigh Ward (Oriental, N.C./Pamlico HS) legged out an infield single to bring Seward home from third, and Oyhenart singled through the left side to score Gracia and set the final margin.

KEY STATS:
• Ward went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and one RBI.
• Oyhenart was 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI.
• Gonzalez drew three walks and was hit by a pitch, scoring one run.
• Rosa-Ramon went 1-for-2 with a walk and one RBI.
• Seward was 1-for-3 with a run.
• Kasey Beekman (Aurora, Colo./Aliso Niguel (Calif.) HS) earned the win, allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits and two walks. She struck out three in seven innings.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs wrap up the 2015 season with a doubleheader Sunday at 11 a.m. against Lee. Senior Day ceremonies will be held between games.
