Flames Outlast Bucs 6-5 in 10

MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Bucs scored three runs in the eighth inning to send the game to extra innings, but Lee scored in the top of the 10th to take a 6-5 victory to spoil the Bucs' Senior Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Lee (29-17-1, 17-13-1 GSC) opened the scoring in the top of the third inning with a run on a walk and a double.
• The Bucs (9-26, 4-21) knotted the game in the bottom of the third. Casey Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) and Josh Johnson (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) were both hit by pitches. After a double play erased Johnson and moved Goodwin to third, a Myles Holliman (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) single tied the game.
• The Flames regained the lead in the top of the fourth with a run on a pair of doubles.
• CBU again tied the game in the bottom of the fourth. Caleb Goodwin (Shreveport, La./Evangel Christian Academy) and Casey Goodwin (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) reached on a pair of infield singles, and Josh Johnson (Somerville, Tenn./Fayette Academy) followed with an RBI double to tie the game at 2.
• Lee regained the lead in the top of the fifth with two runs on a walk, two singles and two wild pitches.
• The Flames tacked on another run in the top of the sixth on two singles and a double, all with two outs.
• CBU rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth. Charles Kelly (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett HS) singled to left, and Casey Goodwin singled to right. Johnson hit an RBI single, and Holliman followed with a two-out RBI single, with the tying run coming home on an error.
• Lee plated the winning run in the top of the 10th on two singles and two walks.

KEY STATS:
• Johnson was 2-for-3 with walk, a hit by pitch, a double, a run and two RBI.
• Casey Goodwin was 2-for-4 with a hit by pitch and two runs.
• Kelly went 2-for-5 with a run.
• Holliman was 2-for-6 with two RBI.
• Cameron Coker (Germantown, Tenn./Germantown HS) went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks.
• Mac Cooley (Bartlett, Tenn./Horn Lake HS) was 0-for-3 but walked twice.
• Peyton McArthur (Senatobia, Miss./Senatobia HS) threw four and a third innings of relief, allowing one run as he scattered four hits and two walks.
