CLEVELAND, Tenn.-Host Lee won the final two sets to claim a five-set victory over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:• The Lady Bucs (4-6, 1-3 GSC) claimed an early lead as they won a back-and-forth opening set 25-22, a set that saw no lead of more than three points for either team.
• In an otherwise nearly identical set, the Lady Flames (5-3, 1-3) won 25-22 in the second set to even the match in another set with no lead of more than three points.
• CBU jumped to a 4-0 lead in the third set and never trailed. They built a 14-5 lead before Lee fought back within three at 15-12. The Lady Bucs scored 10 of the final 11 points, however, capped by a double-block by
Mary Kathryn Miller (Fulton, Ky./Fulton City HS) and
Jessica Reber (Byron, Ill./Byron HS) to give CBU a 25-13 victory.
• The Lady Bucs seemed on their way to victory in the fourth set, leading 16-11, but Lee cut the CBU lead to 18-17 and eventually won 25-21 after scoring seven of the last eight points, sending the match to a decisive fifth set.
• The Lady Flames used a 6-1 run in the fifth set to take a 7-3 lead they never relinquished. CBU closed within a point at 10-9, 11-10 and 12-11, but the Lady Flames scored three of the last four points to win 15-12 and claim the match.
KEY STATS:•
Alexis Gillis (Corpus Christi, Texas/Carroll HS) led the Lady Bucs with 17 kills to go with 11 digs.

Brinsley Cooper (Rossville, Ind./Rossville HS) hit .423 as she tacked on 13 digs and five blocks.

Marisa Wong (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) garnered 22 digs.
• Demi Chipan had 10 digs and a match-best five aces.

Blythe Clausen (Hendersonvile, Tenn./Pope John Paul II HS) logged 13 digs.
• #Jessica Reber added 11 digs, seven blocks and five kills to her 39 assists.
