Lady Bucs Down Badgers 4-1

MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs scored twice in each half as they rolled to a 4-1 win over Spring Hill Friday night to remain unbeaten in Gulf South Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Lady Bucs (6-1-0, 3-0-0 GSC) scored just 30 seconds into the game as Ingrid Mello (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) dribbled into the 18-yard box and fired a shot past the Badger (0-4-2, 0-3-0) goalkeeper for her first goal of the season.
Mariana Tonelli (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) tacked on another in the 41st minute. She drew a foul in the 18-yard box to earn a penalty, and she scored the penalty for her fourth goal of the season.
Connie Strini (Germantown, Tenn./Houston HS) scored twice in the second half. She scored in the 47th minute off a cross from Tonelli to extend the CBU lead to 3-0.
• Strini added another goal in the 77th minute as she scored off a double-assist from Tonelli and Melissa Tammi (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS).
• The Badgers set the final margin in the 80th minute as Madison Camet scored off an assist from Darby Rasch.

KEY STATS:
• The Lady Bucs out-shot the Badgers 11-8, including a 6-3 edge in shots on goal.
Emily Wragg (Nottingham, England/The Becket School) made two saves for the Lady Bucs.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs return to action Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they host West Florida.
