Lady Bucs Win Opener, Heblich Becomes All-Time Win Leader

MEMPHIS-The Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs blanked Rhodes 4-0 in their season opener Thursday night at Signaigo Field, giving head coach Kieron Heblich his 88th career win, putting him atop the school leaderboard.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• After 40 minutes of scoreless soccer, Camilla Rodrigues (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) broke through with two goals in a span of 3:24.
• Rodrigues scored her first goal in the 41st minute, and she tacked on another score in the 44th minute to give CBU (1-0-0) a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Mariana Tonelli (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/American School) scored off the rebound of a Lauren Magdefrau (Raleigh, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons HS) shot in the 58th minute to extend the CBU lead to 3-0.
Melissa Tammi (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) set the final margin in the 59th minute as she scored off a feed from Rodrigues.

KEY STATS:
• Rodrigues scored two goals with an assist.
Autumn Woods (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) made one save in her first start in goal, recording a clean sheet.
• CBU out-shot Rhodes, including a 10-1 edge in shots on goal.

NOTABLE:
• Heblich now has 88 wins, surpassing head former coach Gareth O'Sullivan (1998-03) for first place on CBU's career coaching win list.
• Rodrigues scored two goals for the fourth time of her career, and her five points are a new career-high.
