No. 14 Sailfish Block Lady Bucs

ORLANDO, Fla.-No. 14 Palm Beach Atlantic collected 16 blocks as they claimed a four-set win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Saturday in CBU's final match of the South Region Crossover.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Behind three straight aces from Emma Lenoir (Chattanooga, Tenn./East Hamilton HS), the Lady Bucs (10-11) jumped to a 5-1 lead in the first set, but the Sailfish (15-3) scored the next 11 to take a 12-5 lead as they pulled away to a 25-12 win.
• The second set was back-and-forth throughout, with 16 ties and eight lead changes, with no lead of more than two points. The Lady Bucs scored three of the last four points after the final tie, at 22-22, winning 25-23 on an Erica Maurer (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) kill.
• The Sailfish scored the final four points to claim a 25-17 win in the third set after CBU had pulled within 21-17 on a Lenoir kill.
• PBA used a six-point run to break an 11-11 tie in the fourth set, pulling away to a 17-11 lead en route to a 25-17 win to seal the match.

KEY STATS:
• Maurer hit .286 with a match-best 11 kills.
• Lenoir added 12 digs and four aces to her 11 kills as she matched Maurer's match-high.
• Jessica Reber (Byron, Ill./Byron HS) notched two aces, four blocks and a match-best 18 digs to go with 32 assists.
• Blythe Clausen (Hendersonvile, Tenn./Pope John Paul II HS) garnered 15 digs.

WHAT'S NEXT:
The Lady Bucs return to action Thursday night at 7 p.m. as they visit Mississippi College. Their next home match is Friday night at 7 p.m. as they host Union.
