JACKSON, Tenn.-Host Union used a pair of Kayleigh Patterson goals, one in each half, as they claimed a 2-0 win over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Sunday afternoon to eliminate CBU from contention for next month's Gulf South Conference Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Patterson opened the scoring in the 17th minute when she scored into the bottom left corner of the net off a feed from Olivia Schmitke, giving Union (5-4-5, 5-2-4 GSC) an early lead.
• In the 51st minute, Patterson found the net again, converting on an assist from Kelsey Wilkes.
KEY STATS:
• Union out-shot the Lady Bucs (4-10-1, 4-6-1) 21-11, including a 9-0 edge in the first half. Each team took 10 shots on goal.
•
Autumn Woods (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) made seven saves for CBU, while Kristen Francis stopped 10 shots for Union.
